Dr. Isa Jahnke is Professor of ICT, Media and Learning (ICTML) at the Department of Applied Educational Sciences with the division of Interactive Media and Learning (IML) at Umeå University in Sweden.
She studied social sciences in Germany, finished in 1997. After three years at several consultancy companies (1998-2001), she was a PhD student at Informatics & Society (Informatik und Gesellschaft, Prof. Dr. Thomas Herrmann) at Dortmund University in Germany (2001-2004). She conducted a post-doctoral research study at the Department of Information and Technology Management (IMTM, Prof. Dr. Thomas Herrmann) at Ruhr-University of Bochum/Germany (2005-03/2008). In 2007, she visited the Center for Lifelong Learning, L3D at the University of Colorado at Boulder/USA (Prof. Gerhard Fischer, Ph.D.). From 04/2008-03/2011, she was Assistant Professor at TU Dortmund university at the Center for Research on Higher Education and Faculty Development (4/2008-3/2011) – Hochschuldidaktisches Zentrum, TU Dortmund, Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Johannes Wildt. Since April 2011, she is Professor at Umeå University in Sweden.
She leads the Digital Didacatical Design Lab at IML/TUV, Umeå University, including several projects focusing on ‘designing creative teaching and learning spaces of tomorrow’. For instance, the group conducts studies on iPad-Didactics & digital didactical designs, Digital Didactic Design (digitale didaktische Gestaltung) in schools and higher education (Hochschuldidaktik; Educational Apps, Educational Technology).
