Post-doc position with focus on Digital Didactics, IT and learning

The Department of Applied Educational Science (TUV) has approximately 110 employees working in teaching, research and commission services. The Department has a broad profile that is based on an interdisciplinary research practice. Within the department, the teams study conditions for learning in social, cultural and institutional context, information technologies for learning, assessment and evaluation. The section Interactive Media and Learning (IML) is one of several groups at TUV and studies the integration of technology in teaching and learning from different perspectives.

Research focus
The research group Digital Didactics studies interactive media and learning with a focus on digital didactical designs. A digital didactical design mirrors the social practice of education: it includes teaching objectives, student learning, process-based forms of assessment, social relations and roles as well as educational technology. The group is studying teaching, learning and the integration of ICT and iPads/tabletPCs in higher educatio and in schools as well as outside of educational institutions. Submitted applications should be related to one or more of the following topics

  • Blended learning, mobile learning, creative learning

The successful applicant will be responsible for planning and performing research in cooperation with the research leader within the theme of digital didactics both within and across educational institutions.

We are looking for a post-doctoral researcher for 2 years full-time.

Qualification requirements
Candidates for the post-doc position must have the following qualifications: PhD, preferably in educational work or some other subject with a focus on Interactive Media and Learning. Eligible for employment as a post-doc are a person who completed their doctoral degree maximum three years before the end of the application period.

The position requires that the applicant is proficient in English as a working language, has demonstrated experience of research in the social sciences and has experience of advanced qualitative and/or quantitative methods.

The details of the appointment will be determined in consultation with the successful applicant. The position is full-time, research-oriented and offer at least 80% research. The position is open to access immediately or according to agreement. Placement: Umeå University, Department of Applied Educational Science.
